Let Go Of Your Heart (a poem)

I lost what I
Never had
I lost my grip on
Something I wasn’t able to grab
I wanted to hold your heart
But it was slippery with blood
And it fell right out of my hand
I wanted to show you
Things could get better
But you turned a blind eye to me
I think you’ve been
Blinded all along
How can I keep holding onto you
When you’ve already let me go
You let me fall
But I caught myself along the way
I’ll never say I’m sorry to you again
But I’ll feel it
I’ll think it
I’ll believe it
Until the end of time
