Worth The Pain (a poem)

You turned around

Now I could remember

Now I can’t forget

The way you looked

The first time that I

Really saw you

Everything that transpired

Before

Meant nothing

Everything that came after

Meant the world

To me

But did it mean anything

To you?

I fell so hard

And I bled for you

Literally

Figuratively

You’re the only one

Worth the pain

No one else

Could ever make me

Feel the same

If you were to ask me

Why that is

I couldn’t respond

How I feel transcends beyond

Simple words

But just know that

You’re the only one

Whom I may ever love

Wholeheartedly

You’re the only one in the world

Worth the pain
